this moment

A ritual. A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.

If you're inspired to do the same, leave a link to your 'moment' in the comments for all to find and see.  From: soulemama

inside...outside...(2)

Well it was mostly outside this morning. We couldn't resist being outdoors to enjoy the sunshine.

A recent win (just a small one) from lotto meant that I could spoil myself so I purchased this book (below) from our local newsagent.  I also had enough winnings left over to buy another lotto ticket for Saturday.  This book will be handy now that we have many lemons and passionfruit fruiting at the moment.

A $2 bucket of chalk always comes in handy to occupy the little flutterbies.

Pottering continues as a daily activity.

There is always time to play in the sandpit.

Our winter vegie garden is coming along nicely.

Strawberry Update...no fruit until much later in the year however these little babies are doing well.

Passionfruit continue to fruit on our vine.
 Until tomorrow...

inside...outside...

Inside...making cards for Mother's Day.  Of course they have more than one mother figure in their lives such as nanna's and friends that they have adopted and call nanna in their eyes.

Outside... just playing.

potter...

Sometimes the weather just beckons you outside and today was no exception.  Patio tidying is underway and some neglected pots and plants were desperately in need of attention.

Ingredients
  • slow release fertiliser
  • water - from our tank
  • mulch - grass clippings from our lawn
  • washed pebbles - sitting in a pile in a container
Method
  1. Clear away cobwebs, dirt and dust from space.
  2. Collect spare pots and or containers that can be recycled/reused, scrub, rinse and store neatly away.
  3. Trim dead leaves.
  4. Add slow release fertiliser, water, mulch or use pebbles around plant.  Take care to include a little love, care and attention as you go.
  5. Place proudly in new space.
Yes... I think there will be some more pottering soon.

weekending (3)...

Once again we took advantage of the extra holiday today and the beautiful weather to venture to our local park.  We packed a picnic for morning tea and eagerly headed out the door.  How lovely it is to spend time together...

Until tomorrow...

weekending (2)...

Its a coolish morning and everyone is still snuggled under the blankets in bed.  I am getting on with some tasks before visiting friends for morning tea. Before we go we will bake some mini muffins to take and share.  The little people will want to help so these muffin trays are on hold until after breakfast.

To warm the house I cranked the oven and made Rhonda Hetzel's 'down to earth' cinnanmon tea cake recipe. We will be looking forward to this for afternoon tea with a hot cup of tea or coffee.

Other quiet morning tasks included...
  • unpacking the 'fill a bag of books' for $10 from the local library book sale.  These will be passed around the family to share.
  • writing the new menu for the week.  I have used day to day cookery for some home goodness inspiration
  • making lists of other plans for the long weekend; baking, crafting, mending, gardening, reading, cleaning and organising

I hope you are having a happy long weekend with your family and friends.
