weekending (2)...

Its a coolish morning and everyone is still snuggled under the blankets in bed.  I am getting on with some tasks before visiting friends for morning tea. Before we go we will bake some mini muffins to take and share.  The little people will want to help so these muffin trays are on hold until after breakfast. 

To warm the house I cranked the oven and made Rhonda Hetzel's 'down to earth' cinnanmon tea cake recipe. We will be looking forward to this for afternoon tea with a hot cup of tea or coffee. 

Other quiet morning tasks included...

• unpacking the 'fill a bag of books' for $10 from the local library book sale.  These will be passed around the family to share.   
• writing the new menu for the week.  I have used day to day cookery for some home goodness inspiration
• making lists of other plans for the long weekend; baking, crafting, mending, gardening, reading, cleaning and organising
