52 Weeks of Grateful: 11 months today
You love...eating, walking, climbing, laughing, investigating, talking, playing games, water, the sandpit, bouncing to music and most of all...smiling.

river to rainforest...
On a not so sunny day we decided to ‘follow our nose’ - we
left Coffs for the day and ventured into the hinterland to Bellingen and
Dorrigo. At Bellingen we called in to Waterfall Way Visitor Centre (in the main street) for a
collection of maps and information on 'things to do'. We enjoyed
a short morning tea beside Waterfall Way Creek (first couple of slides with added
bonus of meeting a friendly dog) and after
stretching our legs, we travelled to Dorrigo National Park; part of the Gondwana
Rainforests of Australia’s World Heritage Area.
The Skywalk lookout at Dorrigo Rainforest Centre was great and even though it was an overcast day you could still see the ocean in the distance. As you will see from the photos we really fall into the category before ‘novice bushwalker’ and that is…’these people have no clue’. So as a mental note for next time; warm clothes, waterproof raincoat/jacket and covered shoes (not thongs), would be a good idea. We ventured down a walking track into the depths of this ancient world and it was amazing. We were definitely inspired to do more ‘bushwalking’ in the future.
Some more points of interest..

Some more points of interest..
- The meals we had for lunch at the cafe were healthy, delicious and well priced for both adults and children.
- Always check local weather guide and infomation centre before hand so you have the appropriate clothing, gear and in case you were hoping to do a particular walk as sometimes the tracks can be closed for maintence or because of the weather.

up close with marine life
I hope you are having a lovely day so far.
Here are a few snaps of a morning we spent at 'Dolphine Marine Magic' - all hands on experiences were included as part of the admission price. The little (and big) people definitely loved the opportunity to get up close with these special marine animals.
See you tomorrow.

This is not a sponsored post - we just love marine animals!

by the seaside...
Every now and then it is good to get away. It was only last week that we spent part of our holidays by the seaside. On most mornings we enjoyed exploring little bays and inlets like the one below.
In the afternoons I would steal some 'quiet' time with just my camera and the beach.
After some refreshing 'me' time I was glad to rejoin the tribe for some serious fun catching crabs.
Of course there were some more photos taken.
Ahhh, a holiday at the beach is always good for the whole family.
See you back here tomorrow.

weekending...
It's just another weekend at our house.
Painting is a favourite activity at our house. If you came over you would be greeted by paintings on display in our hallway. These days their paintings show more detail and more care is taken to paint within the lines. I have even been in trouble for hanging one upside down. Ooops!
Happy weekending to you, your family and friends.

This Easter
Our Easter weekend was quiet and restful. Decorating the tree and going on an egg hunt were definitely favourite activities. Ps. There is no sound with this slideshow.

April...
In April we
find our daily rhythm changes as the weather brings cool mornings, sunny days
and crisp evenings. In the month of
April we take a few days to wind down from a busy school term. After some tidying and re-organising we give
in to what our bodies desperately need - extra naps and any opportunity to
sleep in. Over the Easter break our
mornings are slower and we take our time to prepare breakfast and eat slowly. In the evenings, dinner is prepared earlier
so we can migrate outside and enjoy the last rays of sunshine
before the crisp air settles upon us.
5 things to do in April…- enjoy a holiday by the seaside
- share some food tales, kitchen notes and recipes with your family and friends
- attempt some crafty projects
- work in your garden
- catch up with your girlfriends
